Xbox One owners who have still not purchased PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG, have some good news today. They can get it for free right now. Microsoft has announced that PUBG is available for free on the Xbox One for a limited time only.
Microsoft has confirmed that the full 1.0 release of PUBG is now free for the Xbox One, but only for a limited time. So don’t wait too long. This is essentially an extended free trial of the full game if you want to look at it that way.
There’s no way Microsoft would make the game completely free forever for the Xbox One. PUBG has been a timed console exclusive for the Xbox One since December of last year. It was launched in beta for $29.99. So that wouldn’t be fair to those who paid for it.
However, the timing of this promotion is very strategic. With reports that PUBG will soon arrive on the PlayStation 4, Microsoft is most certainly looking to tempt players to keep playing PUBG on the Xbox One. This way it can continue to make money on any and all in-game purchases they make. Get in on this while you can since your time is limited.
