The PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds team is now clearer about their plans to add more game modes beyond the battle royale and zombie games, which is good news for players. The developer has revealed that it’s experimenting with a War Mode. This mode is more like the conventional death matches in other games like Call of Duty, rather than PUBG’s last-one-standing route. Some will like it, others won’t.
You start out with a submachine gun and it’s not over when you die. The teams keep respawning until one of them hits 80 points through a combination of kills, knockdowns and revives. this will be less frustrating for rookies for sure and offers a faster-paced game since players won’t have to scramble for guns to start the fighting.
Right now War Mode is only available for custom servers. These can only be created by PUBG Partners on Windows PCs right now. However, there are plans to bring it to the public through Events.
In other news, the Xbox One version of PUBG will finally get the game’s second map, Miramar, this May. Some think this map has too many sniper battles, but it does give you some variety. The smaller Savage map is coming soon as well.
