Microsoft held a hardware-focused event in Shanghai yesterday where it unveiled the new Surface Pro computer. But the company also had an Xbox-related announcement to make at the event as well.
It’s already selling the Xbox One in China, and now the company has confirmed that the Project Scorpio Xbox is also going to be released in China, which is great news for the population there.
Microsoft’s newest console will be released in China by the end of this year. The company will release the Project Scorpio Xbox globally by the fall so it’s likely going to be released around the same time in China if everything stays on schedule. Microsoft may have confirmed that it’s going to be released in China, but it hasn’t given us a confirmed release date yet.
Microsoft will want to bring its most powerful console to one of the most lucrative gaming markets on the planet as soon as it can obviously, especially after the launch of the original Xbox One was delayed in China. We don’t know much about the Project Scorpio Xbox itself so fans are still waiting to hear more details. Microsoft is going to unveil the Project Scorpio Xbox at the upcoming E3 2017 gaming convention in Los Angeles. We can’t wait.
