The Wii U has not had an easy time what with many developers cancelling games for the system. Well here is another. Project Cars has been a highly anticipated racing title. It was launched earlier this year for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The developer had previously promised that it would release the title on Nintendo Wii U as well but that version didn’t arrive with the rest of them.
Well now we have confirmation on the status of Project Cars for Wii U: It has been cancelled. Sorry Wii U owners.
Slightly Mad Studios has confirmed that Project Cars won’t be coming to the Nintendo console because the game is “simply too much for the Wii U.” Burn!
Bandai Namco, the publisher for Project Cars, also reiterated that the title won’t be coming to the Wii U. It stated that active development will no longer be pursued since the quality wouldn’t meet Bandai Namco’s standards. Well, it will be up to Nintendo to launch new hardware that might be able to better support Project Cars, “but right now Project CARS is simply too much for Wii U despite our very best efforts.”
I hope that Nintendo learns from this console and does better with the next one.
