Yesterday we reported that House of Cards season 6 was in production and being finished, despite Netflix cancelling the show due to issues with star Kevin Spacey. However, the House of Cards season 6 release is now uncertain as the company has suspended production indefinitely.
Netflix decided to cancel House of Cards following allegations of sexual harassment against Kevin Spacey. It has now confirmed that production of the series has now been suspended indefinitely.
“MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew,” Netflix and MRC confirmed in a joint statement. Season 6 was expected to consist of 13 episodes and while Netflix hasn’t confirmed a release date, it would have likely been released in mid-2018. That’s all upin the air now.
It’s not even clear at this point in time if Netflix is going to can the series altogether. Fans obviously hope that it doesn’t. They want to see at least one last season before House of Cards fades into the sunset. We will let you know more when we hear any more news.
