Sony has done a great job promoting the PS4 and that might help to explain the results of a new poll from Reuters/Ipsos showing that the PlayStation 4 has a considerable lead when it comes to gamers’ intended purchases. The new poll results seem to indicate a bright future for Sony’s next-generation console.
Over one-in-four respondents said that they were likely to purchase a PS4 when it becomes available later this year. And where 26 percent of respondents indicated that they were likely to purchase a PlayStation 4, 15 percent said they would buy Microsoft’s Xbox One. Among gamers under 40, 41 percent chose the PS4 and only 27 percent chose the Xbox One.
It helps that Sony has been playing up the competitive aspect of the next generation of consoles. The company is not shy about mentioning price either, with the PS4 being $100 cheaper. It should be an interesting launch for Sony.
