Pokemon X & Y came out this past weekend allowing Pokemon trainers to once again train their Pokemon on their Nintendo handheld and catch them all. The Pokemon series has always been a hit series for Nintendo, so you probably won’t be surprised to find out that the company has sold over 4 million units of both Pokemon X and Pokemon Y in just the first two days alone.
However, the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y games were launched globally, unlike the games that came before them, so it’s hard to compare its sales with previously sold titles. Still it is impressive and Nintendo says that Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are on track to be the fastest-selling Nintendo 3DS games of all time. That’s great news for Nintendo since the Wii U is doing poorly.
“The early response to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y not only reaffirms the ongoing passion of Pokémon fans, but also indicates that an entirely new generation of gamers is eager to experience the franchise for itself,” said Nintendo President Satoru Iwata. The games have been getting good reviews so you might just want to check them out if you are a true Pokemon fan.
