Pokemon Go continues to break records, even if it has been said that player numbers are taking a nosedive. It was recently reported that Pokemon Go had brought over $400 million dollars in just the couple of months that it has been out.
It was the most downloaded app ever during its first week and was the fastest app to reach 50 million installs on the Google Play Store. Pokemon Go is now estimated to be the fastest game ever to reach $500 million in revenue. Not bad at all.
Niantic Labs hasn’t given us its own figures for Pokemon Go, but during Apple’s event yesterday, it did say that Pokemon Go has been downloaded more than 500 million times globally since it was released. Also that players have walked over 4.6 billion kilometers combined while playing this popular game. You don’t see numbers like this for most games.
App Annie is estimating that Pokemon Go has crossed $500 million in global revenue from consumer spending across iOS and Android, the two widely used mobile platforms. The game may hit the one billion in revenue milestone by the end of this year if it keeps it up. Pokemon Go has hit the half-a-billion milestone within just 60 days of its launch, with is astounding for any game.
