The CEO of The Pokemon Company has confirmed that they will be developing Pokemon games for Nintendo NX, Nintendo’s next-generation gaming console that has not yet been officially unveiled.
The Pokemon Company, in case you did not know, is an affiliate of Nintendo which deals with the licensing of Pokemon characters.
This confirmation comes from The Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara. He confirmed in an interview that there are plans afoot to create Pokemon games for the upcoming Nintendo NX. We don’t know yet if these will be entirely new games or just updated versions of existing games that are upgraded to work with the Nintendo NX. We may get a mix of both.
Nintendo hasn’t officially revealed much about the NX console, but we hear rumors that it’s going to combine features of handheld consoles with those of traditional consoles. We won’t know for sure until the console is announced. And now we know that there will be Pokemon on the new system!
Pokemon Go has been downloaded more than 500 million times since it was launched in July and so sales of other Pokemon products have improved due to the popularity of the mobile game. That means more are coming. Pokemon is hot right now.
