Man, it is a nightmare keeping track of all of those Pokemon. In fact, the most tedious feature of the Pokémon series is being able to transfer each animal from a previous version to the newest version. It’s always been possible, it is just a pain in the butt.
These games span four generations of handheld gaming devices, and not all of them are backwards compatible or easy to connect to one another. So as I said it is a pain. Now the Pokémon series will take advantage of the cloud, offering a way for everyone to easily store and transfer their Pokemon from version to version. This soultion is called Pokémon Bank and the service is available on the Nintendo 3DS for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.
You can deposit, withdraw and manage up to 3,000 Pokemon in private boxes stored on the cloud. You can transfer Pokémon using only one 3DS, but the Bank comes with an app called Transporter, which allows you to transfer your pocket monsters from Pokémon Black and White and their sequels. You’ll still need old cartridges, link cables, and handheld devices, but this should make things much easier for you. If you download the apps between the release date, December 27 and January 31, 2014, you’ll get a 30-day free trial.
