Sony will be launching its PlayStation VR headset later this year and now we have good news for gamers in China. The headset will be arriving in the country at the same time it’s released in many countries across the globe.
That’s normally unusual for the Chinese market where there are strict regulations on games and consoles, but Sony has confirmed the news. The PlayStation VR launch in China will take place on October 13th.
Sony has confirmed this news at an event yesterday. There is a catch, though. So it isn’t all good news. PlayStation 4 owners will only get 20 virtual reality games at launch in China. There are 50 that are promised for other markets on launch day. They will also be paying more for the headset. PlayStation VR will cost roughly $450 in China while in the U.S. it’s $399. This happens sometimes in other markets.
PlayStation VR is already pretty popular. It should sell well once it launches. Pre-orders sold out quickly and PlayStation fans are eagerly waiting to see what the company’s first virtual reality headset has to offer. If you got your pre-order in, you will be able to check it out in October. The time is approaching.
