Unlike the Xbox One, Sony doesn’t have any plans of bringing backwards compatibility to the PlayStation 4. This means that PS4 owners will not be able to just pop in a PS3 disc to play a game that originally came out for its predecessor. However, the company does offer another way of playing PS3 games on PS4: the PlayStation Now streaming service.
It is costly, but it offers a variety of titles that can be streamed on the PS4. Sony continues to expand the service’s library and it has just added over 100 new games to PlayStation Now.
This is the biggest release of new content ever for PlayStation Now which now has a library of over 250 titles that you can stream on-demand. 21 of these games come from top franchises like Resident Evil, Mega Man, Street Fighter, Dead Rising, Lost Planet and more. The variety ranges across multiple genres so there will be something for everyone. There are classic games like Double Dragon Neon and Dragon’s Lair along with games like Joe Danger 2: The Movie, DeathSpank: The Baconing and Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD.
The entire list is on Sony’s blog. You will want to check them all out and see if you want to play any of them.
