You might remember that Philips made the 6-inch, octa-core I928 official through Weibo a few months ago, so naturally they are ready to reveal another phone. Now it is time to tease us with the I908, a mini version of the I928.
The Philips I908 will feature a 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor, a 5-inch, 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel camera.
It also appears that the marketing folks at Philips want us to know that the I908 will also be extremely thin. It is hard to draw any other conclusion from that image. We don’t have any exact dimensions right now, but we can’t help but think that we’re looking at a device that may very well be among the thinnest offered by anyone.
And since Philips seems to be focused on China right now, where smartphone saturation is still at relatively low levels, we can only guess that this means that the I908 and the I928 will be mainly targeted at folks in China. So it doesn’t seem likely that we’ll see these two anywhere else. Although you never know, it could show up elsewhere. You never know. So, how thin is it? That’s the question.
