If you are a fan of the Battlefield games, you may soon be able to enjoy Battlefield outside of your console. Electronic Arts has sold the Battlefield TV rights to Paramount TV and Anonymous Content. So now they can legally create a TV series based on this popular EA video game franchise.
They have only acquired the rights so far which means it could take some time before a Battlefield TV series arrives. Give it some time.
Executive producers of the Battlefield TV series include Ashley Zalta from Anonymous Content as well as Michael Suger who produced the Oscar-winning movie Spotlight. This should be a good fit for TV since it has raked in more than 60 million players across the globe ever since the first Battlefield title was released in 2002.
EA is ready to release the latest version of the game – Battlefield 1 – later this year. Paramount TV and Anonymous Content now have a first-look scripted programming deal for premium cable, broadcast, cable, and online distribution. Hopefully, this Battlefield TV series will hit our screens, since Fox decided to develop Battlefield: Bad Company for TV back in 2012 but the series never aired.Hopefully this one will do better so we can watch it.
