The PancakeBot is one of those fun uses of 3D printing. It won’t save lives or change the world in any radical way, but it will draw those complex pancake drawings that you can’t handle.
The PancakeBot has been around for a while as a LEGO construction, but it recently got a spiffy makeover, ditching those LEGO pieces for acrylic, an Arduino controller, and stepper motors. The printer is equipped with a squeeze bottle filled with pancake batter, which is controlled via a vacuum pump. This machine is faster and smaller than the previous LEGO version.
The device isn’t available for purchase, so you will not have its help in the kitchen just yet. Maybe one day. However, you can get instructions for making the LEGO version and then you can make some killer pancakes. Pretty soon you will be a pancake artist, known worldwide for your designer edible creations. I don’t have the patience to put the machine together. I’ll just take mine round and boring, so I can eat right away and fill my stomach. I’ll leave the artistry to others.
