I’m a big Pac-Man fan from way back so I was happy to hear that Bandai Namco has announced that Pac-Man Championship Edition 2, the sequel to the popular Pac-Man Championship Edition that was released back in 2007, is going to be released later this year.
The game will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Some lucky folks at San Diego Comic-Con will be able to go hands-on with the game at booth #129 in Hall A of the San Diego Convention Center. Lucky people.
The game is currently in development at Bandai Namco studios in Tokyo, Japan. They are promising “eye-popping 3D mazes” with unique visual elements, a variety of dynamic mazes, the ability to bump ghosts as well as “intense giant sized ghost boss battles.” That sounds exactly like what I want out of this game. As you might expect, this new title builds upon its predecessor’s “Chain Eating” mechanics by allowing players to build up to four ghost trains before chowing down to gain maximum points. Score Attack mode is also back.
A new Adventure Mode has been added to the game which will have players chasing fast moving fruit, battling big bosses and experiencing new ways of playing Pac-Man. It really sounds awesome. Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 is going to be released in the Americas for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC later this year in September. I can’t wait.
