A new games console has launched over on Kickstarter this week in the form of the OTON X which its developers say is the first artificial intelligence games console.
The OTON X development team is hoping to raise $25,000 over the next 32 days to take their unique games console into production. The OXTON X has been created to be the first video game that is capable of creating its own game levels without any human input.
Watch the video below to learn more about this new artificial intelligence which could pave the way for next-generation consoles and “pushes the limits of procedural content generation” say its creators.
With the OTON developer unit our goal is to build a foundation for a platform that can not only intelligently create games but create other content. We see OTON’s creation software as a new genre we call “Creation Content”. The possibilities are endless and with the support and ideas from the Kickstarter community we can build something truly amazing!
We designed OTON to be user-friendly, hassle free & unlimited hours of daily fun. It’s a Linux PC, autonomous game console, developer tool, media hub and social hub all in one device for under $500. We used an off the shelf enclosure to test our OTON algorithm software. The case is a slim aluminum enclosure, low profile case, plus, Nvidia graphics or Intel HD graphics based on the OTON unit you select. OTON case dimensions 200 mm×225 mm×45 mm; 7.87”x 8.86” x 1.77” (W×L×H)
How did we do it? Our proprietary software is 3 years in the making. We took a radical idea on paper and turned it into a fully working system. This version of OTON is strictly a high level developer unit. Each OTON unit will have onboard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and unlimited storage. The OTON X console takes the hassle out of buying games, loading games and trying to find something new to play. Every two months we will offer free updates, game assets and new mini levels to play on the OTON X system.
