Yesterday we mentioned that the Omate Smartwatch had hit Kickstarter looking to raise $100,000 to bring the Android-powered watched market. If you hoped to watch with me that funding goal before its 30 days is up, we have some really good news. The smart watch met its funding goal in less than a day.
As of now, the watch has 1257 backers with $245,627 pledged. That’s well over twice what Omate hoped to raise. If you missed the watch yesterday, it features a G sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, and its IP 67 rated for durability. The watch will support voice calls and has integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 along with GPS.
The watch is 512 MB +4 GB of memory and storage capacity can be expanded using microSD cards up to 32 GB. The watch has a 600 mAh battery good for 100 hours of standby time. The watch also has a dual core Cortex A7 1.3 GHz processor and 1.54-inch TFT display with a resolution of 240 x 240.
