Microsoft announced Office for iPad just the other day and it was no surprise that it went straight to the top of the iTunes App Store charts. It would seem that there is genuine demand for the app that people are happy has finally been met. And they are lining up to download it.
The latest news for Office for iPad involves a recent tweet by the Microsoft Office Twitter account, letting us know that there have been over 12 million downloads of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote for the iPad from the iTunes App Store since launch. That was just a week ago, so this is super impressive. Microsoft has to be happy about that. Almost as happy as users are to finally be able to get it for their iPad.
The only downside to Office for iPad and that is that it requires users to have a Office 365 subscription. However, it doesn’t seem to be bothering many people if those numbers are any indication. There are ways around that, but of course that they hope you wont explore anytime soon.
