As with any business, Domino’s wants to get their product into as many hands as possible. In this case, that product is pizza. So it is no surprise to see Domino’s embrace all kinds of hi-tech ways of doing that.
The company’s latest endeavor comes in the form of Slack integration, where Slack users can download and install the Domino’s app for their workspace and then place an order within the app itself. Another excuse for pizza! Yay!
“Slack users can go to the Slack App Directory and click to install the Domino’s ordering app for their workspace. Team members can either order via a direct Slack message to Domino’s or collaborate on a group order in a channel.”
Dennis Maloney, Domino’s senior vice president and chief digital officer says, “Collaboration on a big project can now carry over to collaborating on a team lunch order. We love to make ordering as easy and convenient as possible, and that includes ordering for the workplace. Now you can organize a group lunch with your coworkers down the hall, all from the comfort of your cubicle.”
This should help them to sell more pizzas. Domino’s has never been shy about embracing new technology. The company’s pizzas can be ordered from a variety of platforms, Amazon’s Alexa, Facebook Messenger, Microsoft’s Cortana, and last year the company even explored the idea of using drones for delivery. This is just the latest move to get pizza in more hands and mouths.
