With the launch of Nintendo’s highly anticipated pocket gaming console the 3DS just around the corner it has been revealed, Nintendo is hoping to sell 4 million devices within the first month of launch. The figures were issued by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata in an interview with Japans biggest business newspaper the Nikkei.
The new 3DS will be launched in Japanese stores on February 26, closely followed by European and American stores in March. Iwata explained that Nintendo hopes to achieve the 4 million sales by the end of March with around 1.5 million sales in Japan and the other 2.5 million sales worldwide.
When questioned on supply shortages that have hindered the launch of previous DS devices Iwata told that Nikkei that Nintendo was doing its best to ensure continuous supply when the 3DS starts shipping next month.
