Nintendo has sold almost 2 million Switch units in the four months since the system launched in March. Obviously the console is a huge success. But it’s still plagued with a few system issues that people have to put up with.
Nintendo has kind of fixed one of these. If users update the operating system to the latest version (3.0.1), the console will finally display the correct charge level on screen. Usually. If that does not work, they can follow some instructions to charge, then drain the battery, which will gradually fix it. We hope.
It’s not a foolproof solution, but it at least it addresses a Switch bug that displayed full battery charge one minute and empty the next. If the update doesn’t fix the issue, Nintendo has posted a step-by-step guide to gradually train the console into more accurately displaying the charge. Basically it is just changing the settings, filling the battery and then letting it run down to a certain point. And repeat this two to six times. Yeah, not the best fix, but hopefully it works.
Hopefully this won’t be necessary for most users. If you have this problem give both things a try. Hopefully it works for you guys.
