We heard recently that during a The Legend of Zelda concert that the series’ producer Eiji Aonuma had hinted that Skyward Sword could be finding its way onto the Nintendo Switch. And many are looking forward to playing another Zelda game on the Switch. However, the bad news is that it is not happening. Sorry fans.
A report from Eurogamer, suggests that Nintendo has reached out to clarify that Skyward Sword for the Switch is not happening, and that there are no plans to release the game. The statement provided by a Nintendo rep says, “At this time we have no plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch.”
We don’t know why Aonuma hinted at the release if there were no plans. Apparently Aonuma went on stage where he was quoted as saying, “I know what you are thinking, Skyward Sword for Switch, right?” It is possible that Aonuma was making a joke, but people thought he was serious. Anyway, it seems that there will be no Skyward Sword for the Switch anytime soon, which is a shame.
However there have been various job listings in the past that have hinted that Nintendo could be working on a new Zelda game, but if that is true it probably won’t be coming anytime soon sadly.
