I wouldn’t have believed this, but the weekly sales figures from Japan have been released and it looks like Nintendo’s 3DS console is outselling the PS Vita. The Vita sold 8,203 units from July 30th to August 5th. This is about a 10% decline from the week before that, which saw 9,081 units sold.
The Nintendo 3DS on the other hand sold 118,768 units, which was also a decline from the previous week of 235,974. The drop may have to do with the release of the new 3DS XL. I hope for Sony’s sake that the Vita catches up at some point.
When it was launched the Vita sold just 321,400 units where they had expected to sell 700,000.
