It has been revealed this week by Bloomberg that Microsoft is planning to equip its next Microsoft Surface RT tablet with a Snapdragon processor to power its 4G LTE technology and use Qualcomm as the SoC supplier in addition to Nvidia.
The news of the new Microsoft Surface RT chip supplier has come from an undisclosed source who revealed that Qualcomm chips will provide fast wireless data connections, likely to be provided by Snapdragon 800, 600 or 400 chips.
It also believed that one version of the Microsoft Surface RT tablet will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC for 4G LTE connectivity and Wi-Fi only models will be equipped with Nvidia’s Tegra 4 processor.
At the current time Microsoft hasn’t confined the news but has discussed details regards the “blue” update arriving on Windows 8 and Windows RT later this year. As more information comes to light regards the Microsoft Surface RT we will keep you updated as always.
