Here’s some good news for Amiibo and Legend of Zelda fans. The next Legend of Zelda game will introduce big changes to the series. They all sound pretty good too. It will have a big, open world for one.
Other changes are that Link can jump, climb and even cook. Aside from the game changes, they are also changing Nintendo’s toys-to-life figures: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s toy series will feature the first ever Amiibo with moving parts. Collectors will like this.
Three figures will launch with the game: an Amiibo featuring Link using a bow, one with him on horseback and a third is a “Guardian,” which is the large spider-like creature from the game’s 2014 teaser trailer. It is a flexible toy, apparently just offering limited movement in the guardian’s tendrils. Another bit of cool news is that the Wolf Link Amiibo that shipped with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be compatible with the new game as well, and can summon Wolf Link to help you in battle. If you played Twilight Princess on the same console, it’ll even import your character’s health stats. There’s a lot to drool over here.
Those figures won’t be available until the game arrives early next year.
