Can you believe how much Snapchat has changed since its initial version more than 5 years ago? It started as a simple image messaging application that became a hit, as more and more young people found it.
Soon after, new features were added, like live events, private messaging and public and sponsored content. Right now, the app is so popular that some people are calling it “the new MTV”, but Snapchat does have some competition these days. It isn’t easy to stay ahead.
Facebook’s Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp are all used by a ton of people and keeping up with the competition requires constant innovation on Snapchat’s part. The latest innovation is a new Groups feature that has just been introduced. It allows Snapchatters to socialize with up to 16 people at a time. That’s right, you and 15 friends can all get together. You can create a group by making a new chat or while initiating a snap. Tapping on a name from the group enables a private chat with that person, and switching between the two conversations is done with the simple press of a button. It’s all very easy.
Group chats are nothing new, but with Snapchat, the whole concept is a bit different. Users are sure to love this feature.
