Earlier this month rumours were circulating that Sony was in the process of developing a new more powerful next-generation PlayStation 4 console, that has been referred to as the PS 4.5.
The new PS 4.5 console has is being created to provide more powerful graphics for gamers to help handle higher end gaming experiences when used in conjunction with the new PlayStation VR virtual reality headset, that will also be launching later this year.
This week the Wall Street Journal newspaper is reporting that Sony will officially unveil the new more powerful PlayStation 4.5 ahead of the launch of the PlayStation VR headset which is set to take place in October 2016. The WSJ sources close to Sony, referred to as “people familiar with the matter”, have also explained that the current PlayStation 4 would continue to be made available and that the new PlayStation 4.5 would enjoy the same software although provide more power for the upcoming virtual reality titles that are currently in development.
When questioned about the new PlayStation 4.5 Sony has refused to comment and nothing has been officially confirmed at the present time. But as soon as more information becomes available we will keep you updated as always.
