You may have heard that Netflix is working on “The Witcher” series. The company said that the series would be released in late 2019, but no specific date was given. Well, according to a report from Recapped, they have revealed that the series is now set for a release on December 20th 2019. Just in time for Christmas.
Recapped is a NSFW celebrity blog that did break some news on the show’s casting in the past so this could be accurate. The report also states that season 2 is expected to begin filming in December or January so we could see a release in late 2020 for the second season.
The Witcher series will star Superman actor Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer. The series will be based more closely on the books and not the hit game. In case you didn’t know, The Witcher game is actually based on the novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski.
So if you’ve never read the books before, things could be a bit unfamiliar to you. Netflix has been reported to be pretty happy with how the series turned out, which is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that a second season could already be greenlit before the first airs.
