Netflix is about to get a lot more Disney. There’s a whole slew of additional Disney films coming to the streaming service this September as Netflix becomes the exclusive streaming service for movies from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar. That’s big for Netflix.
This announcement comes from Netflix’s blog, where they detail the year’s coming releases. Right now we don’t have any concrete information on which titles will be added later this fall, but we know that it will be comprised of major theatrical releases and more. It’s a great time to be a Disney fan if you are already rocking Netflix. You have some new stuff to look forward to.
There are already several Disney movies available, but September should see that expanded by quite a bit. This announcement is part of an agreement that was signed back in 2012, which made Netflix the exclusive U.S. subscription service for first-run live-action and animated features from Walt Disney. And now it is time for Netflix subscribers to get that content. We can only hope that this means we will see The Force Awakens coming to Netflix in the near future. We’ll be keeping an eye out for that news and we hope it comes soon.
