Australia has a lot to offer, whether you live there or are just a tourist enjoying the scenery. However, Australia has been lacking one thing that others already have. That would be Netflix. We have heard rumors that the video streaming service will be heading to Australia before, but now it seems that a launch is imminent based on talks that Village Roadshow’s CEO has had with the company.
According to Village Roadshow’s CEO Graham Burke, Netflix is in negotiations with the company to include its content for Australian users in a local launch. This may finally give Australians what they have been waiting for.
Unfortunately, we still don’t have any information on when the popular video streaming service will be arriving in Australia. One rumor says that the launch will be some time next year. When it does finally arrive, online piracy may just go down. The country lacks legal alternatives like Netflix as it is now. It would not get rid of piracy all together, but it would certainly take a dent out of it. That is something that movie execs would love to see happen. Hopefully they will get Netflix very soon and start watching everything they want.
