If you grew up in the early days of computing, you may remember the video game franchise called “Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?”. The franchise went on to include a cartoon series and TV shows, and now it looks like it will be getting its own live-action movie.
The news comes from a report that suggests that Netflix has acquired the rights to a live-action movie of the franchise. Carmen Sandiego will apparently be played by Gina Rodriguez, from the show Jane the Virgin. She won a Golden Globe award for that role.
The movie is in its early stages and we don’t know who will be directing the movie or who will be writing the script. And aside from Rodriguez, we don’t know who else might also be starring in the film. This is not the only Carmen Sandiego project that Netflix is working on by the way.
The live-action movie will be an extension of an animated series Netflix is working on based on the character, and Rodriguez will also be voicing the main character. It will likely be a long time before we hear anything more, so fans will just have to be patient and wait.
