Looks like not everything is good in Netflix land. The latest version of Netflix for Android that runs on Android 4.3 is having some problems. If you’re watching something on Netflix for a while and you don’t press an input button, the device goes to sleep.
Pressing the power button once to wake up the device doesn’t seem to work. You have to press the power button hard enough to re-start the phone or tablet. It happens even if you just have the Netflix app on and you’re not watching a video, which is pretty bad.
Google and Netflix are both aware and Netflix’s Don Merrill says that the problem is that the app is freezing your device while it is locked which makes it look as though your phone has been turned off. Merrill suggests that those with a Nexus device running Android 4.3 either refrain from updating to the new build or uninstall the Netflix app until the bug dealt with. A fix is coming.
