Netflix has teamed up with Marvel to create shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones, so they are open to working with other brands to deliver great content. Now the company has announced that it’s teaming up with Lego to create two new shows for kids. Both will be released next year.
The two shows are titled Lego Bionicle: The Journey to One and Lego Friends: The Power of Friendship. Both will be available for on-demand streaming on Netflix in the first half of 2016.
Kids are going to love these shows, but those are not the only kids shows Netflix has in the pipeline. This is part of a larger announcement involving a total of seven original series for children. These will arrive on Netflix between 2016 and 2017. More content for kids is needed on Netflix so this is a great move. Especially when you consider that Netflix has 30 million subscribers who regularly watch children’s programming.
The two Lego shows will only debut with four episodes but more content will likely be released soon after. Netflix continues to build up its original programming and it continues to do a good job. Now it’s time for kids to have more good new content.
