While other parts of the world have enjoyed both Netflix and Hulu for some time, Russia has been left out on the cold. However, now it looks like both companies are making serious attempts to get their services in the country.
The report comes from Russian newspaper Vedomosti and according to this report, Hulu executives visited Moscow at the end of last year. While there, they met with Russia’s big film studios and video services. It is reported that they discussed launching Hulu’s services with them.
Of course Netflix has also expressed interest in delivering content to Russia as well. The country’s huge population would go a long way toward giving Netflix a boost, which it needs badly after several recent corporate blunders. Both companies would benefit greatly from such a wide new customer base. Anyway, Russia is freezing. They need more stuff to watch and keep them indoors.
