Moto Maker lets you customize your Moto X to how you like it. Motorola has even offered wooden backplates which is a nice change from the usual plastic, metal, or glass that we are all used to. The customization doesn’t end there though. According to a recent tweet by @evleaks, Motorola could be changing their focus away from wood to leather in 2014.
The more luxury minded of you will likely embrace it since it is again, a nice change of pace. It will be interesting to see what kind of leather finishes Motorola could offer this time around. How many options would we have? It will be interesting to see. Earlier @evleaks also revealed that there is a new Moto X successor coming called the Moto X + 1. Maybe Moto X’s successor will use the rumored leather finish as one of its options.
Leather finishes are usually left to luxury handsets, so it will be nice that we can all get in on this action. The question is, do people really want leather on their phone? I guess we will see if this pans out.
