A few iPhone 6 Plus owners have discovered that their devices had suffered slight deformation from only normal usage. Like, you know, just sitting inside of a front pocket. We don’t know if these are isolated cases, or if Apple’s new and huge iPhone is a bit too fragile. However, it is starting to look like it is indeed too fragile.
YouTube channel Unbox Therapy tested how much pressure the iPhone 6 Plus can take, using just their bare hands. It shows that sadly, the device can be easily bent. Unlike LG’s G Flex, which is flexible, the iPhone 6 Plus can’t regain its initial shape. This should be worrying to iPhone 6 Plus owners, since it obviously isn’t as solid as it should be. The good news is that the glass seems to hold up greatly in this test. The glass may even be helping it to not bend further.
The iPhone 6 Plus is made out of aluminum, and is Apple’s largest smartphone ever. Those two factors do not work in it’s favor when it comes to this issue. A larger device is bent more easily. No comment from Apple just yet, but we are interested to hear what they have to say about this issue.
