Here is some great news for Minecraft players. Mojang has confirmed that Minecraft is going to get a community marketplace this spring. Yay! The marketplace will have content made by players that other players can purchase. This marketplace will be available on mobile and Windows 10 PC editions of Minecraft.
Minecraft Pocket and Windows 10 players will be able to download and play with community creations from inside the game. Great news.
Mojang is going to work with approved creators to create a launch catalogue of adventure maps, texture packs, minigames, and more. These creators include Sphax, Noxcrew, BlockWorks, Polymaps, and more. This will be a great resource for players. Mojang will open up submissions to anyone with a registered business.
This will provide Minecraft creators with another way of generating revenue from the game while Pocket and Windows 10 players have access to a growing catalogue of fun stuff for the game. You can manually download free community creations from elsewhere on the internet too. So Mojang has introduced Minecraft Coins, which can be bought using in-app purchases and will allow creators to set flexible prices and take their share of what they sell. Players get access to whatever they buy across devices via their Xbox Live account.
