There have been rumors that Minecraft would be appearing on Nintendo’s Wii U platform in soon and Wii U owners have been pretty excited about it. After all, the Wii U’s GamePad would allow gamers to perform a variety of Minecraft actions and it seems very suited to the game. Well, we have some bad news.
Minecraft’s creator, Markus “Notch” Persson, has revealed that Mojang has no plans on bringing Minecraft onto the Wii U anytime soon. Responding to fan requests on Twitter to bring the game onto Nintendo’s console, Persson was quoted as saying, “I agree a Wii U version would make sense, btw. The only reason for no current plans is we’ve got too much work already. I <3 Nintendo.”
Earlier rumors suggested that the game was already in the works and that Nintendo had sent several Wii U development kits to Mojang to help them port the game onto the Wii U console, but sadly this will not be happening. Persson does not completely rule out the possibility, if you look at his statement, but for now Wii U gamers will have to wait. Besides, the game is on many other platforms, like the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Soon it will hit the Xbox One and PS4 too. You win some, you lose some.
