It looks like Microsoft has teamed up with a couple of other firms for a game streaming service for Xbox One owners in China. Those lucky dogs. Some evidence has surfaced which shows that Microsoft is teaming up with Square Enix and Ubitus to bring Final Fantasy XIII to the Xbox One for owners in China.
It will be conducting a beta test for a game streaming service.
The details of the beta test were posted on the official Xbox Chinese website. Those details say that some gamers in China will be able to play Final Fantasy XIII on their Xbox One through a cloud streaming service. It is in beta right now with Final Fantasy XIII being the only game playable. However, if the test goes well and Microsoft sees potential, it’s going to expand the list of titles available in the streaming service and launch it publicly. That would be very cool.
Apparently players first have to download a 160MB file before the rest of the game can be streamed to the console. Right now it looks like 400 Xbox One owners have been selected to take part in this beta test. This will be interesting. We will see how it goes.
