Many have been waiting and now Microsoft has finally made it official. Its HoloLens development kits started shipping yesterday. But that’s not all. There will also be a new example project that will roll out for those who decided to pick up the HoloLens development kit last month.
Pre-orders for the Microsoft HoloLens development kit were priced at $3,000 each, targeting qualified developers in the US and Canada. Now they can finally get their hands on this device.
This particular development kit that has started to ship right now will allow qualified devs to develop and deploy some amazingly realistic holograms on the self-contained platform. People have been waiting for this for a while so many are celebrating this news. Devs can also check out the Galaxy Explorer Project which visualizes planets while showcasing the features of the HoloLens.
We really don’t know when a consumer version of Microsoft HoloLens will be made available,so we will all just have to wait and see. We do know that it could have heat issues if it is used for hours on end, and with developers getting their hands on it, a consumer version should coming with some of those issues worked out more.
