In 2016, Konami announced a new Metal Gear game: Metal Gear Survive. What makes this game so notable is that this marks the first Metal Gear title that will be released by Konami following Hideo Kojima leaving the studio.
Well, we have some sad news. If you were hoping to get your hands on the game this year and see if maybe Konami can still make a great game without Kojima, you will have to wait. The developers have announced during E3 2017 that Metal Gear Survive will be skipping its initial 2017 release and will be released in early 2018 instead. Better late than never we guess.
The company has announced that they basically need the extra time to polish the game. They want to make sure its great before it arrives. They also revealed that it will feature a “dense single-player mode”. They did not say when in 2018 we will see the game, other than it being “early 2018”, so for now gamers will just have to wait and see. Hopefully as soon as possible. And hopefully it is the only delay. Metal Gear Survive is currently set for a release on multiple platforms which includes the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC.
