Humanity really disappoints me. Far more often than I would like. Smartphone thefts occur each day, but some just really break your heart. In the UK, outside of Newcastle is a place called South Shields. That was where a 22-year old man was robbed of his iPhone 4, by two other men.
The 22-year old man laid unconscious in the street and died of hypothermia later in the night. Over a phone. Yeah, nice one humanity.
Apparently the two thieves stumbled upon the unconscious man on the street and saw an opportunity to steal his phone from his pocket, without a care in the world for this guy who clearly needed medical attention. All they had to do was make a phone call for an ambulance. That’s it. They only wanted a free phone. A 19-year-old defendant admitted to the theft at the South Tyneside Magistrates Court earlier this month, while the other 25-year-old defendant admitted to handling stolen goods.
Sentencing will be this April 13th at the Newcastle Crown Court. I hope they throw the book at these two idiots and they get the maximum penalty they can get. People like this really tick me off. They had no compassion at all.
