LinkedIn has announced that it has crossed a major milestone. The social network for professionals and owned by Microsoft, now has over half a billion members in 200 countries across the globe.
The LinkedIn community continues to grow every year and has obviously cemented its position in the online marketplace. This is big news for the company. It isn’t every dayyou hit a milestone like this.
The LinkedIn community represents more than 10 million active jobs, giving you access to over 9 million companies, and has more than 100,000 articles published every week. The company says that with each connection users make on LinkedIn, the total reach of their professional community increases. Each connection has an average of 400 new people that users can get introduced to, and 100 new companies, which represents connections to an average of more than 500 jobs.
It is interesting to note that the top 5 most connected countries include the United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Singapore, United Kingdom, and Denmark while the 5 most connected places include London, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Greater Jakarta, and Milan. Interesting mix. LinkedIn is going to add personalized insights in the My Network tab for all users very soon as well. It will provide more details about this new feature very soon.
