LG has announced its premium LG G Watch R, which is set to launch in key global markets in the fourth quarter of 2014. The smartwatch will be up for preview at IFA 2014 next week.
As always, the company failed to reveal any detail about the price tag it will come with. However, LG’s German press release may have revealed the European price of the LG G Watch R, as well as its launch date.
According to the German press release, the LG G Watch R will come with a €299 price tag, and should launch in October — the same time when Samsung is expected to launch its Gear S smartwatch. This translates to almost $400, but there’s no word if it will be the same in the US as there’s a difference in taxes in both regions.
The smartwatch comes with a round P-OLED 1.3-inch display sporting a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels, with a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 410 mAh battery. LG G Watch R runs Android Wear as its operating system and is compatible with all Android devices running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or higher.
