In a time where the rich are getting richer than ever and the poor are getting poorer than ever, it’s nice to see a story like this. Usually you hear about some corporate sleezebag stealing money or evading taxes, or buying something that you are actually paying for, but in this case, it’s a nice story.
Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing received an added $3,000,000 personal bonus after the company had its best fiscal year. He didn’t squander it or use it to step on the little guy. Instead, he distributed it amongst 10,000 junior employees. That’s quite frankly, astonishing.
Do you think he knows that hard work should be rewarded and that he actually values employees and knows that this will make them more loyal and apt to do a stellar job? Or do you think it is for PR? I’m hoping it’s the former, because it’s nice to think that there are still some good guys at the top.
