Yes, you can argue that iPhone and iPad related accessories are too expensive, and there are cheaper alternatives, but many times those cheaper alternatives are not safe. It is better to buy an Apple certified accessory, here’s what can happen.
According to a story from the Daily Mail, a 9-year old girl was given a permanent iPhone-shaped scar thanks to a leaky case bought from the brand New Look. The case was designed to feature glitter sparkles, unicorn, and rainbow shapes encased in a liquid that allows it to move around in a plastic backing on the back of the case. In other words, it is a recipe for disaster. A pretty and sparkly recipe for disaster.
The protective casing burst open when the girl was asleep, and when the chemical touched her skin, it basically gave her a chemical burn in the shape of an iPhone. Ouch! Doctors say that this is a particularly severe burn and she will be left with the scar for the rest of her life.
New Look has alerted stores to stop selling the case while they look into the issue. So like I said, it is best to go with Apple certified accessories. Terrible things can happen.
