By now you have heard about the hack at Sony Pictures Entertainment. As it turned out, a lot of sensitive data was stolen during the cyberattack. Stuff like email conversations between top executives, passwords, unreleased movies and a lot more became public knowledge. Now the latest word is that the next James Bond film SPECTRE’s script has also been leaked online. This has not been a great month for Sony. This is a huge movie for them.
According to Reuters an early version of the script for SPECTRE was leaked after hackers also got this in their attack on the computer systems at Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Apparently, producers of the film found out about it on Saturday morning and have since confirmed in a statement that “third parties who have received the stolen screenplay may seek to publish it or its contents,” but are reminded that the script is protected by U.K. copyright laws. This is a big movie for Sony and fans are really eager for this latest Bond installment, so this is not what Sony needs at the moment.
There were some rumors that Sony had stopped production on the film because of this, but a spokesman said that production is “still moving forward.” That’s good news for fans at least. SPECTRE is scheduled to be released on November 6th, 2015.
