Thanks to a leaked Verizon roadmap, we know that a handful of devices are scheduled for a release by the end of August. One of those is the Kyocera Hydro Elite. It’s for those we want a smartphone with water resistance, hence the name.
Verizon has announced that the handset will be available starting on August 29th, priced at $99.99 with a two-year contract and a $50 mail-in rebate. It’s not the most powerful, but it is rugged. It features IPX5 and IPX7 certification for both low-pressure water spray and water immersion.
It also has wireless charging, NFC capabilities, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 1.3MP front-facign camera, and a 4.3” HD display. And Android is the OS.
