Netflix is working with Kevin Smith to create a limited He-Man anime series. It will be called Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Smith will be the project’s showrunner and executive producer and he has unveiled the new show at the annual Power-Con convention. Masters of The Universe Revelation will pick up where the original animated show left off, which should be good news to fans.
It will focus on unresolved storylines from the ’80s show, with familiar characters and maybe even “the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor.” Mattel Television is producing the series, while Powerhouse Animation is doing the animation. Powerhouse also did Netflix’s Castlevania, so if you liked that you will likely enjoy this one as well.
Smith promises that the new He-Man series “is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid.” However, at the moment, we don’t know when this show will be available to watch. Netflix has yet to announce when Revelation will be available for streaming. We do know that Netflix lost a large portion of this fanbase with She-Ra. If they don’t get this show right, fans are not going to be happy about it. We will see.
